David Epstein (director, playwright, actor & teacher) - is an active
alumni from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and is the founder of Invisible
City Theater Company. Under his watch, ICTC was Nominated for Best New Full Length Play at the 2006 Independent Theatre Awards, named a 2005
New York Times Critic’s Pick, named People of the Year 2004 by
NYTheatre.com and Best Production Winner at the 2004 OOBR Awards.
Directing highlights include a 2005 collaboration with Dennis Lehane,
author of Mystic River; a 2004 collaboration with Anthony Jaswinsky,
author of the upcoming thriller, Kristy, from Dimension Films; and
productions at Theatre Row’s Samuel Beckett Stage.
As an actor, David has booked national spots for Showtime, Microsoft, Bell Phone and international theater tours traveling as far as Africa. His favorite
voice-over work can be seen in the animated film The Pickle Jar, which
last screened at the Museum of Modern Art (Cal Arts Retrospective).
David’s play Midnight is published in New Playwrights: The Best Plays
of 2003. Top Floor appears in the Best Ten Minute Scenes for Two Actors
2006, while Strange Attractions appears in the 2005 volume.
David is an acclaimed acting teacher in NYC with a positive, proven and fresh
approach that allows clients to consistently land work in feature film,
television and theater. He is a member of SAG, AEA and the Dramatists
Guild.
